Scent Profiles and Their Stories
1776
Where it all started. When we set out to make a beard oil, we wanted to make one that was exceptional. One thing we knew from the onset was that an exceptional beard oil demands exceptional ingredients. So we painstakingly scoured the world of carrier oils to find the perfect concoction of oils that provide the absolute best benefits for the health, feel, and look of our beards.
Scent Profile: 1776 is our fragrance-free blend. In our oil, you will find a natural nutty, somewhat sweet scent that is given off by the natural aroma of the various oils in our blend. In our butters and balms, it is essentially scent-free.
American As
Baseball or Apple Pie… we decided to go with apple pie because we don’t think baseballs will smell too good on your face. American As is an ode to America!
Scent Profile: Crisp Green Apples, a hint of Cinnamon, and a dash of Nutmeg, steeped on a soft bed of Vanilla. Words can do no justice for this incredible scent.
Black
It was either Flat Dark Earth or Black for this one. We made a pros and cons list, ran surveys, we made a bunch of cool charts and graphs on a spreadsheet, we even did one of those Venn diagram things. It was a close call, but in the end, “Black” narrowly edged out the win… we think it’s because one of the main ingredients is Blackberry… and “blackberry” has the word “black” in it.
Scent Profile: Sweet blackberry and warm amber balanced out with a hint of fresh cypress and tangy lemon wrapped up in the primal scent of musk.
Freedom
Essential oils play their part on our health and our mood. The smell of lavender, found in our Freedom scent, is known to have relaxing and calming affects, among many other benefits. Aptly named “Freedom” - it soothes your mind and frees you from the day’s anxiety. (try this scent out in our butter before bedtime)
Scent Profile: Fresh, clean, and soothing Lavender combined with a beautiful citrus medley of Bergamot and Lemon, balanced out with the woodsy sweet aroma of Patchouli. Who would have ever thought that Lavender can be so manly!
Gun Powder
If you haven’t figured it out yet, we here at American Dude Company enjoy our “occasional” pew pew sessions. So does this scent actually smell like gun powder? No dude, we’re not idiots… but it sure as hell reminds us of it!
Scent Profile: Earthy, smoky, leathery, citrusy, and floral. Citrus notes of Grapefruit and Bergamot combined with the earthy and smoky scents of Vetiver and Carrot Seed. A base note of Ylang Ylang rounds out this amazing scent.
Million Bucks
This scent makes you feel exactly the way you do when walking out of your favorite barber shop after a fresh cut… like a Million Bucks. Our take on the ever-popular barbershop scent… but we added a fitting twist to it that you’re going to love!
Scent Profile: Lavandin (also known as the man’s Lavender), Musk, Amber, and Oakmoss combined with a tad of Bergamot and a pinch of Peppermint. This amazing take on barber shop scents is rounded out with Green Tea.
Northwest
The United States produces over 70% of the world’s mint, and most of that production is found in the Northwest region of our beautiful country. When we finalized this refreshing scent, we only thought it right that it be named Northwest.
Scent Profile: Brisk and refreshing Peppermint and Spearmint combined with the sweet herbal scent of Rosemary. Brought together by fresh Eucalyptus. All on a light base of Frankincense and Bergamot...
Pheromone
In the animal kingdom (humans included) pheromones help to attract the opposite sex - for obvious reasons. We just figured we’d give bearded men a bit of boost!
Scent Profile: Coffee and Vanilla combined with the clean and fresh aroma of Grapefruit and Lime. All finished off with the subtle notes of spice and pepper of Turmeric. It's called "Pheromone" for a reason...
Rupert
Ever wake up and immediately get disappointed because you realized you’re in your bed instead of a hammock on a beautiful tropical beach? Yeah, we do too. We’re not saying that Rupert will completely remedy this less than unfortunate situation, but it will help!
Scent Profile: Coconut, Pineapple, Amber, Musk, and a dash of Frankincense.
